Welcome back after Easter break. End of unit 9.
Hi again. It's that time of the year again: spring and just a few weeks to go before the end of the course and that means we have to pull our socks up and get ready for the hardest thing of all: EXAMS!!
There's only a month left and three units to cover in that short period of time so we'll be focusing on basic matters like grammar and vocabulary. The reading activities will be set for homework and we'll have to rush our way through the three units left. Still, I hope we'll have enough time to practise all the new contents and vocab.
Well, to keep you busy I'm posting below the test for unit 9. We haven't seen the grammar in class due to lack of time and to the fact that it was quite easy. I was more interested in the vocabulary and topic of the unit since it's one of the most common topics in the oral exams.

2nd week of January
As you know, we're well into unit 6 which deals with the future and whose topic is holidays and travelling. I'm posting a presentation on the future, particularly the difference between going to and will. Shortly, I'll also post some information on the differences between the other tenses which also express future ideas.

2nd week of December
Well well! Only two more weeks to go before the holidays!! Mi intention is to finish unit 4 before Christmas. This week is very short and we've practised SO and NEITHER. Next week will be dedicated to revising and practising the past perfect around the topics of coincidences and superstitions. Ben will be with us on Tuesday but not on Wednesday. I will also set a new writing task; this time it will be a story.

Ben was in class today talking about Thanksgiving and he'll be there tomorrow too. We'll be finishing the unit this week so next week we'll be starting with unit 4, which deals with gambling vocabulary, the pasts and time linkers.
Tomorrow and the day after will be dedicated to the modals in the past: explanation, guided and freer practice. I also plan to watch a video with one of Jamie Oliver's recipes. And on Friday, with my morning group, we'll be doing some pronunciation activities and some speaking practice.

Today we've carried on with "homes". We've done a puzzle activity in groups of five. We've also checked the homework on modal verbs and we've done a listening exercise from the book; it's called a Dinner Date and it's at the end of unit 3. I'll be doing the same with my morning group tomorrow.

second week of november
During this week we are going to deal with the modals of obligation, permission and prohibition. At the same time, we'll carry on working on the Home vocabulary. Here is the presentation that we'll see in class this week. I will set some grammar exercises for homework so that the learning and assimilation of the modals is carried out in a successful way.
